2 CHRONICLES

- Originally 1 Chronicles and 2 Chronicles were one book
- Mostly records reign of King Solomon (971-931 B.C.)
- Also records kings of Judah from Rehoboam to Zedekiah (931-586 B.C. respectively)
- The theme of disobedience to the Mosaic Law causes the Babylonian captivity

Around 970 BC..........

2 Chronicles 3:5-7

He (Solomon) overlaid the inside with pure gold. He paneled the main hall with pine and covered it with fine gold and decorated it with palm tree and chain designs. He adorned the temple with precious stones. And the gold he used was gold of Parvaim. He overlaid the ceiling beams, doorframes, walls and doors of the temple with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.

A little over a thousand years later..........

John 10:23

It was winter, and Jesus was in the temple area walking in Solomon's Colonnade.
