February 17: Leviticus 21-22; Matthew 28

The Great Commission- Matthew 29:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

What is a commission?

general definition :: a command given to a person or group of people
when it comes to objects :: to bring something new into a working condition
when it comes to the military :: an officer appointed to a particular function

Y'know the phrase "Out of Commission?" Let's be IN COMMISSION and fully functioning for Him, Amen?

Now check out these awesome signs...it's dubbed "victorious life."

February 12 :: Leviticus 13; Matthew 26:26-50

Matthew 26:48-49

"Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: 'The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.' Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, 'Greetings, Rabbi!' and kissed him."

Our Savior - betrayed by a kiss...created to be a very sign of love...a reflection of HIS truth...And He was betrayed by it.

My soul mourns with His (Mat 28:38) for this perversion of what was created good. Let us be lights of this goodness and truth and love - like God is for us!

February 10 :: Leviticus 8-10; Matthew 25:31-46

You want to talk about specifics? I'll give you specifics:

Leviticus 9:2-4
He said to Aaron, "Take a bull calf for your sin offering and a ram for your burnt offering, both without defect, and present them before the LORD. Then say to the Israelites: 'Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without defect—for a burnt offering, and an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the LORD, together with a grain offering mixed with oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.'"
God told Moses exactly what to do when the priests began their ministry. Is it possible that he can present us with personal details to help us know and serve Him today - or was all this detailed stuff just for the OT?

February 8 :: Leviticus 4-5; Matthew 24:29-51

Matthew 24:44

"...the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

I saw someone else use this photograph to put a picture
to this scripture and I'm not sure why...but, somehow it fits...

February 7 :: Leviticus 1-3; Matthew 24:1-28

Matthew Henry commentary on Leviticus 1:

"The general design of these laws is plain. The sacrifices typified Christ; they also shadowed out the believer's duty, character, privilege, and communion with God. There is scarcely any thing spoken of the Lord Jesus in Scripture which has not also a reference to his people."

To think of Jesus willingly being this sacrifice we foreshadowed with animal sacrifice breaks my heart and heals it all at once. WE deserve to be the ones who are slaughtered...but we aren't! Instead, we are given grace. How great is our God that He would paint our doors with His blood...that we may be passed over when His righteous judgment comes? How great?
